Adesua Etomi
Born in Owerri, Nigeria, Adesua Etomi moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 13 where she went on to study Physical theatre, Musical theatre and Performing Arts at City College, Coventry. From there she proceeded to study Drama and Performance at the University of Wolverhampton where she graduated in 2009 with 1st class honours and received ‘The Foursight Theatre Award’
In 2014 her performance in the film ‘Knocking on Heavens Door’ brought her to the attention of the African film industry and she went on to appear in films like Brave, Falling, Couple of Days, Out of Luck, the groundbreaking TV series ‘Gidi up’ and MTV drama series ‘Shuga’ which helped launch the career of Lupita Nyong’o.
Adesua has always had a deep love for theatre which led her to appear in a number of lauded theatre productions and musicals including Saro, Les Miserables, London Life Lagos Living, The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s wives, Shattered and Crystal slipper to mention a few.
Adesua has been nominated for the most prestigious film awards on the African continent, the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in the Best Actress category.

Adesua is the youngest of 3 children. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, playing the guitar and swimming.

Dapo Oshiyemi - Writer/Producer
With over 20 years experience working as a Management Executive and Business Consultant in Europe and Africa, in industries ranging from media to the public service, Mr Oshiyemi has along the way acquired extensive skills in the creative and business aspects of film making.
He has attended numerous courses, workshops and seminars on film organised by Raindance, the New Producers Alliance, Film London and the BFI, written eight screenplays with several of them in development and has been involved in advisory and in various other capacities with films such as Tango with Me, Half of a Yellow Sun, Flower Girl, and Gone Too Far to name a few. He holds qualifications in Management, Finance, Marketing and Project Management in addition to being a member of the British Chartered Management Institute.
Mr Oshiyemi was publisher of the first African magazine in the UK and in conjunction with the African Video Centre pioneered the introduction of Nollywood films into the UK. In 1999 he was included in the UK’s first Black Who’s Who published by the Ethnic media Group and recognised by the African Business Partners Association for his contribution to the black business community in the UK.
He has written papers on the black segment of the UK and the Nigerian film industries along with numerous articles on the Business and creative aspects of filmmaking while working tirelessly with Government, Film Agencies and private organisations in the UK, Nigeria and South Africa to formulate film policy towards building a commercially viable black segment of the global film business.
Mmabatho Kau - Co-producer
Mmabatho Kau has an extensive understanding of media management, having worked as a producer, broadcaster, development executive and script editor in the South African film and television industry for over 15 years.
In the years she’s worked in the industry, she’s worked as content producer on television shows such as, Big Brother (reality), Take 5 (educational magazine show), Tsha-Tsha (drama series) and the ground breaking documentary series; Precious Africa. Having a passion for both the creative and business side of media, she chose to further her studies in 2005 graduating with a Master of Science in Media Management from the University of Stirling in Scotland.
On her return to South Africa, she worked as a commissioning editor at the South African National Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). While there she oversaw the delivery of projects such as the highly acclaimed mini-series Death of a Queen, the sit-com Family Bonds and the drama series Hard Copy 3. After the SABC, she moved on to head up the local content department at Telkom Media. Although this television network did not get off the ground, the time spent there gave her exposure into the world of pay television. This knowledge later formed the foundation for her work as Channel Manager for three years on a general entertainment channel on the pay TV Network; Top TV. She managed to build the channel up to being one of the most watched channels on the bouquet.
Her love for story and film has also helped her work as a script editor and lecturer for the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF). She script edited scripts such as My Zulu Wedding, Whale Caller (Zakes Mda) and Kalushi- the Story of Solomon Mahlangu. She’s taught both the short film writing course as well as the Spark Script writing course (Eastern Cape and Johannesburg).
She recently partnered with Cati Weinek, as co-producer and business partner in Homemade Films a television and film Production Company. Homemade films won the tender to produce a 26 part drama series Soul City 12. The series was the 2nd highest watched drama series in its timeslot, with over 15 million viewers.
Her current focus is on building her company, Raindrop Media. A company aimed at developing narratives that reflect and celebrate African content for Television, Film the Internet and any platform willing to explore story from Africa’s point of view.
Dipo Abdul - Associate Producer
Is a notable film Producer and Executive Director of Kiss Media Group with over fifteen years experience managing one of Africa’s leading Media & Marketing Company’s producing films, TV content, Radio content, Commercials, Music videos and Live Events.
Dipo as organised major concerts for international superstars like Usher, 50 cents & Akon, formed part of the team that organised the annual African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) and managed top talent like P-Square one of Africa’s biggest Hip Hop groups.
In 2014 he produced and directed ‘DELUDED’ a short film (2014) which went on to win the Best short film at the 2015 Best of Nollywood Awards. The film also got nominated in seven Categories at the 2015 In-short Film Festival in Lagos, winning for Best Cinematography and Best Actress and in the same year Deluded was nominated for Best short film and Viewer’s choice Award at the 2015 African International film festival and the Abuja International Film festival.
He also co-produced the feature film ‘My Creek Town Adventure’ (2015), the TV Drama ‘Series 24-Seven’ (2015), and the TV Comedy Series ‘Cross Country’ (2016).
